Secrets and Clues
The Mouse has taken over the Blue at the Southern Mirage – now known as Blue at the Southern Mirage – A Mizi I property. He got Blue kicked out of the council of Zobeck due to a technicality about proper reporting of compensation and hired a mercenary company called the Felvipers. Blue and Doghoof are now in Vandekhul where it's safe.
With the Weavebender disrupted, Ix's forces can now walk and communicate freely in Vandekhul.
Vampires, ghouls, Ixian ghouls, beggar ghouls loyal to the Beggar King, and mortals all battle in the streets of Vandekhul. It's chaos.
The emperor's palanquin has arrived outside of the city. The first legion (Crimson Blades) and third legion (Armor of Titans) of Darakon are garrisoned outside.
Marius Mourncloak, spy for the emperor, seeks the characters for a parlay with Nicoforus.
Duke Moretto Lichmark knows time is tight. High priest beginning the ritual.
A thousand ghouls were led into the catacombs beneath the Bone Cathedral. There's a vast pit below the central chamber in which they all fester.
The emperor would rather outsiders took care of Moretto than he or his troops – it's better to avoid appearances of a civil war.
The Beggar King wants independence for he and his band of ghouls in Vandekhul. If it's enough of a shithole, the Emperor won't care.
